OSX users see note below.

The MoviePitch CD-ROM should run automatically when you insert it into the CD drive. If it does not, there can be a number of causes. Most likely:

1. You might have the "autorun" or "autoplay" feature turned off. Check with your Help feature to learn how to turn it back on.

2. The disc might be damaged.

3. You do not have Acrobat Reader installed.

What to Do

To see if your disc is damaged, first try to view the contents of the disc using your Finder. If you can read the list of files, your MoviePitch disc is fine. If you cannot, try another CD-ROM that you know has worked before. If it works, then the MoviePitch CD-ROM is damaged. Email us and we will replace it. If your test disc also does not work, then you have a problem with your CD-ROM drive. Sometimes blowing dust out with compressed air will fix the problem.

If you can read the disc files, launch the program by double-clicking "start.pdf". If it fails to open, make sure you have Acrobat Reader installed. You can either get it online from www.adobe.com or install it from the MoviePitch CD-ROM in the folder called Reader.

Can't Get Past the Introductory Screen?

There is an arrow in the lower right corner of the screen as you begin. If it is not visible, enlarge the size of your window so that it shows. Click it to advance.

OSX: Apple Giveth and Apple Taketh Away

If you are using OSX, some of the features described above will not work. For example, it will not autoplay.

1. To launch the program, first make sure you have Acrobat Reader installed on your system. If you don't, you can install from the disc or get a more recent version from Adobe.com.

2. Launch Acrobat directly, then open the "Start.pdf" file or the "Menu.pdf file" on the disc. If you simply double-click the files, you might get a preview of the Acrobat file and none of the hyperlinks will work.

For some reason, Apple removed the Indeo video codec from the version of QuickTime that ships with OSX. This means the video files will only play the audio portion. There is not solution to this that we can find.
